Dear Members and Guests of PPN,
With your help the board of PPN has sustained the organization for nearly three years. We are grateful to those of you who have provided encouragement and help. Now the term of this Board seems to have come to an end. When we initiated PPN, it was never the intention of the board members to stay on forever. It was only to preserve the network as best we could and to provide opportunities for everyone in the network to serve and to be served.
Today the lives of the PPN board are full and complex. It's time for us to pass the baton. What we don't know is if there is anyone to take the baton. So we are sending an invitation to those of you who have benefited from PPN to take the baton. We'll need four or five of you if we are to continue.
Currently, PPN is in very good shape. We have a wonderful client base—YOU!—and we have enjoyed many shipments and classes together. We enjoy a solid reputation with our vendors. Our website, developed by our very capable friend, Mary Shaw, has made doing business both easier and quicker. We have a lot to give to the new board.
This board’s final shipment will be the Walton Feed shipment in May. We will be offering the possibility of running two trucks to ensure that everyone who wishes to order has an opportunity this time. The PPN website will open for orders on 1 March and continue until we fill two trucks or until March ends, whichever comes first. More details will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, please mark your calendars for 10 May—DELIVERY DAY!
Once the Walton Feed order is complete, the board will keep PPN solvent until June 15th, 2008. If a new board has not been organized by that date, we will be taking any remaining assets and donating them to Colorado Care and Share. We will then send out a final email letting all of you know various places where you might be able to fill some of the needs that PPN has met.
It is our most sincere hope that four or five of you come forward to take up where we leave off. We will not leave you without good training. We are also very happy to serve the new board in an advisory capacity for the next year. We hope that the new board, if it forms, will maintain the standards and goals we have tried to stand for—the goals of serving one another and of providing for today and the future.
Please consider this an invitation to keep this work going. If any of you are interested in doing so, please contact our Director, Kathryn Vander Meulen, Kathryn@ProvidentPeople.Net, (719) 495-6927. Our best wishes to you and your families for a prosperous and memorable new year.
