 Walton Spring order on the horizon!

The PPN Board Members have been busy preparing for the Spring Order from Walton Feed.  Look for that to be posted to the website soon.

 IMPROVEMENT – LINE ITEM COST VISIBILITY:   We are trying to add the shipping and handling costs to each item so when a member fills out the list, the total cost is known per line item.  In past years, the shipping and handling cost was added at the end. We think it will benefit members to know their running total as they build their order.  Also, we are evaluating all items so light but bulky items, heavy items, little items, and the like are all priced with fair shipping and handling cost.  For example, a large, empty food-grade barrel will have a slightly higher per-pound shipping cost due to the area it takes up on the truck.

 VOLUNTEERS:   It takes many people to make it smooth and easy to pick up your order on 9 May.  It’s a very exciting day working with other great people serving our community, eating good food provided by the members, and feeling the profound satisfaction of contributing to the health and sustainability of our community.  Please e-mail Erin to pick a volunteer assignment.   (erindodge@hotmail.com)

And not related to the spring order, but of crucial importance is…WEBMASTER NEEDED

ProvidentPeople.net needs to replace our Webmaster.   Mary, who did wonders for us in the past, has move out of state.   We need a person who can occasionally update the Provident people website and help with two bursts of activity – the spring Walton order and the fall specialty order (Nutty Guys, Bobs Red Mill, etc).  Both of these annual orders have web-based order forms.  It is not a big job, but vital to our ability to serving our community effectively.
